While Embraer is now mostly known for their light jets such as the Embraer Phenom 100 and the Embraer Phenom 300, there was a time when Embraer was a maker who was exclusively known for making larger jets. In fact, the wild success of the Phenom line has been mainly attributed to the fact that Embraer has been able to replicate the same attention to detail and quality that you expect from a larger aircraft in a smaller package. In a way, the Lineage 1000 is a literal reference to the lineage of Embraer, a maker of super luxury aircraft.
Essentially, the Embraer Lineage 1000 is the private jet version of the regional jet airliner produced by Embraer, the 190E. A regional jet airliner is a commercial aircraft that has under 100 seats. While the size of the 190E makes it a small commercial aircraft, the Lineage 1000 makes for a very large private jet aircraft. Naturally, the aircraft has been a success on the private jet charter level as well as an aircraft used by governments and militaries across the world. For example, in 2020, the Pakistan Navy placed an order of 10 aircraft to replace the older P-3C Orion in the role of maritime patrol. In 2009, the first delivery of this truly amazing aircraft was made to Aamer Abdul Jalil Al Fahim, setting the course for an extremely successful production run.
Embraer Lineage 1000 Charter Costs
The Embraer Lineage 1000 has been mainly used by larger corporations who need to transport their executives all across the world in complete luxury so that they can be ready to battle it out in the cutthroat corporate business world. Considering the price tag, which is north of $50 million, anyone who is not a billionaire is probably going to have to charter it in order to experience it. When it comes to the charter cost of this behemoth, you can expect to pay around $15,000 to $20,000 per hour. While the cost is considerable, one has to consider the fact that you get a regional airliner that has been modified with all possible luxuries for only 19 passengers.
On top of that, the prices that have been quoted here are estimates and can vary due to a variety of different factors. A good deal can be had if you are willing to go to the option of empty-leg flights. In empty-leg flights, the rates for the jet charter are generally offered at a very heavy discount. This is due to the fact that a jet has to make that flight regardless of whether there are passengers inside it or not. So, the jet operator is more than happy to offer the jet at a lesser price since they have to make that journey anyway. Exterior
The true proportions of this behemoth can only be understood once you stand right in front of it. The aircraft has a very typical commercial aircraft design since it actually stems from a jetliner. You won’t find the swept-wing design which so many private jets are equipped with. The gentle beast that this aircraft actually is can be readily seen on many of the most famous runways in the world. The aircraft is actually longer than some Boeing BBJs (which are widely perceived to be the biggest private aircraft in the world). The length comes in at a massive 118 feet, one of the longest in the entire market. The wingspan is a much more sensible 94 feet, which is still in the extremes. The exterior height of the aircraft comes in at 33 feet.
While you cannot expect this aircraft to produce the same range as Bombardier Global and larger Gulfstream lineups (since it is in a lower price bracket), it still provides an extremely good range of 4200 nautical miles. The Lineage 1000E, an upgraded model over the 1000 is able to extend the range to 4600 nautical miles.
Interior
While the exterior might feel pedestrian to most people, the interior is where the difference really starts to become apparent. The passenger capacity stands at 19 people with 5 different cabin zones. The cabin has about 10,000 cubic feet of space, making it extremely spacious. One of the cabin zones is a conference room, where executives can discuss and formulate ideas while on the go. After a really long session, you can relax while eating your favorite meal which was stored on one of the numerous counters in the entry room. Now that you are done with all the important work with a few hours left in the journey, you can go to the main cabin to watch some TV on the couch (yes, the jet has enough space for an entire couch).
Once the TV has tired you out, retiring to the bedroom seems like the most sensible thing to do. The next cabin zone is a luxurious bedroom designed to rival 5 stars hotels. Seeing the sunset through the windows while laying on your bed is one of the most amazing feelings you can experience. This is what tells you that this jet was not just made for flying in the air, it was made for living in the air. Most of the amenities that you find on this jet are only available in mansions in California. So, you can buy this flying mansion for a teeny tiny sum of $50 million, or even charter it for a friends’ getaway to Paris.
